CHAMPLIN, George
Name obtained from granddaughter Ann Eliza's obituary. Per Corunna Journal, he enlisted as a private at Westerly, RI in May 1771 and fought under Washington for 2 years in the Revolutionary War. I have his entire pension file. His parents names and his place of birth are not given. George married Lydia BERRY, daughter of Elijah BERRY and Dinah SAUNDERS, on 18 Mar 1800 in Westerly, Washington, RI.1 (Lydia BERRY was born on 9 Mar 1769 in Westerly, RI and died on 17 Jul 1855 in De Ruyter, NY.) |
